Omaha Bee Club Meetings

The veep and I have been banging our noggins together to find a better way to conduct bee club meetings so that everything gets covered, people get to take a break or two and things stay fun and interesting.

To this end, we are going to try something a little bit different with our itinerary beginning with the September 2011 meeting.

We will start off with a brief opening "business" segment to cover old business and new business.  Hopefully lasting only 15 to 20 minutes then take a short break to set up for the Education/event segment that will generally be scheduled for about an hour or so.  At the end of this segment, we will give out any information pertinent to the next months meeting, etc...

After that, we will take another short break, maybe about 15 minutes at which time a "leg stretcher" can take place like showing off the host's bee yard, etc... if we happen to be meeting at a members location.

Following that, we will come back for maybe 15 to 30 minutes and break into sub-committees that we have signed up for to help handle bee club ongoing affairs.  If you are not on a sub-committee, then you are fine to leave after the last "leg-stretcher".

Obviously, we will fine tune things as we go along.

Our primary objective is that beekeeping (and bee club meetings) should be fun, interesting and informative.  We want to make sure that happens.

The itinerary will be fluid until the week before the meeting.  At that time, unless something really urgent comes up, the itinerary will be "locked" and no more changes can be made to it.  After that, we will post the itinerary online in this space so everyone will have a chance to see what's exactly planned to happen.
