Today, the Fontenelle Bee Club members that were present voted to form 4 committees. Treasury/fundraising Committee: Responsible for finding ways to raise funds and pay for Club projects and activities. Executive Committee: Responsible for the activities and presentations that are scheduled for each Bee Club meeting and the operation of each meeting. Communications/media Committee: Responsible for the newsletter, website, facebook page and future video project as well as any other media/communications of the Bee Club. "Bee Fest" Committee: Responsible for planning and coordinating the FBC "Bee Festival" to occur on or around National Honey Bee Day on July 20th. There are to be at least three members on each committee. As of now, there is one more member need for the Bee Fest committee to make it 3. The first job of the Treasury committee is to investigate and recommend to the entire membership, which voted to adopt a membership fee today, the amount of the membership fee and other methods of raising funds to accomplish some of the things this club would like to do. The Executive committee will arrange and plan the course, locations, topics and presentations of the monthly meetings. Tony S will remain as that committee Chairperson, seconded by Joe S. Other committee members are Steve P and Al N. The Treasury Committee will have Gary K as Chairperson and Madison L as second. The third committee member is Tony S. Other members are welcome as Madison will be leaving soon. The Bee Fest Committee will have Tony S as Chairperson and Steve P as second. There is need for at least one more committee member. These committees will meet at least once a month to prepare for the next meeting and up to as often as they feel the need to ensure tasks are completed on time. They will keep in touch using whatever means at their disposal. The Media, Treasury and Bee Fest committees MUST keep the Executive committee up to date at all times in order to make sure Bee club meetings and activities are planned and coordinated accordingly. These steps are being taken to be able to meet future and anticipated needs of the Fontenelle Bee club as our membership grows and our activity in the Omaha/Metro area community increases. |
